PRINTFEST was set up in 2001 by printmakers Judy Evans and Ronkey Bullard and takes place over the early May Bank Holiday weekend. It is based in the friendly market town of Ulverston, Cumbria, on the edge of the Lake District, where the Coronation Hall which provides a beautiful and relaxed setting for the display of artwork from throughout the UK and further afield. The event has grown significantly in recent years, with a steady increase in visitor numbers and in the value of artwork sold. Printfest 2009 saw the visit of our first international Printmaker of the Year, Katsunori Hamanishi, and in 2010 our first commissioned print was created by our Printmaker of the Year, Anja Percival. In 2011, we celebrated our 10th anniversary by commissioning Trevor Price as our Printmaker of the Year to create a large-scale, collaborative print, working with members of the local community.
